It’s not too late to spend this Christmas in Cyprus.
Christmas in Cyprus has a lot to offer especially if you are looking for a warmer climate for the festive season.
Why not spend your Christmas in Cyprus this year.
During the winter months in Cyprus the rental rates for apartments and villas are MUCH lower than the peak summer months and don’t forget the sun shines ALL year round. You shouldn’t expect to be swimming in the sea during the winter but some days you will be in shorts and t-shirts. In late November there were dozens of bathers in the sea in Ayia Napa and Larnaca but the weather was exceptionally warm, even for Cyprus.
Over recent years Cypriots have really taken to decorating their towns with Christmas lights. Even the smallest of villages seem to have Christmas lights this year in the village square and the roundabouts entering the larger towns.
The photograph above was taken in the relatively large town of Paralimni on the east coast. The nearby villages of Sotira and Liopetri also have their own Christmas lights with the display at Liopetri being particularly impressive this year.
Larnaca Christmas lights are very nice along the promenade and the town also has a huge illuminated tree two streets in from the promenade.
You will find the cost of apartment rentals very reasonable during the winter months. Fully furnished 2 bedroom apartments are available for as little as €395 per month for visitors wanting to spend the whole winter in Cyprus.
For some people the festive season in Cyprus is an opportunity to meet up with friends and local Cypriots that they met during their summer holidays. For others it is an escape from the over indulgences back home. Whatever your reason for spending Christmas in Cyprus you are sure to be welcomed with open arms. During the peak summer months the local bars and restaurants are so busy they don’t always offer the level of service you would wish for. Out of season the bars and restaurants will be grateful for your business and the amount you pay is normally much lower than the peak summer prices. Three course meals are available for as little €9 and a meat mezze (for two) just €22.
If you shop around the flight costs can be very reasonable too especially if you can be flexible with your travel dates. Car hire is exceptional value for money at this time of year. One of our clients recently picked up a rental car in her local resort, had two days car hire and dropped off the vehicle at the airport for less than €30. When you consider a single airport transfer would cost around €40 you will get some idea just how cheap the car hire is during the winter months.
